IdeaBank
was launched by Nick Jerrat in August 2006. Nick has a passion for
information technology, earning bachelor and master degrees in computer
systems engineering from Curtin University of Technology, Western
Australia in 2000 and 2004, respectively. For his master degree, he
received a commendation from the chancellor of the university for his
research into error resilient image compression. At present Nick relies
on a network of engineering professionals to assist
IdeaBank
as contract partners when the need for their expertise arises.
In 2004, as part of a team of three engineers, Nick founded a start-up
company AuQuest Pty Ltd to develop gold detection technology. Since this
time, the AuQuest GD1000 has been developed, a gold detector capable of
outstanding depth performance on ground of very high mineralisation.
Nick has a track-record of successful grant applications, including a 313k
grant from Dairy Australia to develop a wireless camera system for dairy
farms. At Curtin University, Nick led a team of engineers to develop
this technology, with the first installation planned for a dairy farm in
2007 at the University of Sydney, Camden.
During 2007, IdeaBank has worked with a
number of different businesses to develop technology solutions.
